24-31 December 2004 – The CUBA trip I couldn’t refuse

After twisting my heart, I could not refuse the free Cuba vacation – I accepted the trip when my son became upset that I would not accept his gift.

His gift?  No. No. No.

It came from Hugh Boyle, an executive at Westjet airlines.  For over a week, the man kept insisting I accept the free trip. Two months earlier, my physician had formally announced I did not have a terminal heart condition – I was not going to die.

Mr. Boyle seemed to know a lot about me.

In CUBA – The plan was to kidnap me was not for a ransom but rather disappearance.

24 December we were in Cuba – all good.

1^st GRAB ATTEMPT – Clandestine- Late at night

On 28 December, late Wednesday evening, I went to the juice bar and got drinks to bring to our room – the rooms were two story buildings – we were on the first floor.

I was coming back with beverages in each hand.  It was past 11pm and it was dark.  As I was about to turn onto the path to my room, a man dressed like a secret agent, twirl behind the ear, sunglasses, jumped in front of me and cupped my private area (groin).

He insisted I come with him  “come with me for 5 minutes” – I declined.  He still insisted as he continued holding my private area now squeezing and in my face – persistent.

Without looking alarmed, I took a step back and smilingly said “no gratis” and he let go.

As I proceeded to enter the building, he followed behind.

When I stood at my door, I knocked  and he passed behind me going for the exit door at the end of the hallway.

My husband opened the door and the guy continued straight ahead.  And just before I entered the room, I look at him, he turned around just before entering the exit door and gave me a hateful scorned look – angry.

I entered our room and did not tell my husband what had just happened.  We had three more days to go before we left.  I told him 2 years later.

THE PERP WAS A SECRET SERVICE AGENT . . . . SO WHO DO YOU TELL WHEN YOU ARE HALF-WAY INTO VACATION IN A COMMUNIST COUNTRY?

If the perps had been local thugs, I likely would have reported it while in Cuba.

BUT IT WAS CUBAN SECRET SERVICE  doing a Clandestine Operation.

It would be the first GRAB attempt under guise “Sex Lure” and it had failed.  I was careful for the rest of the vacation – making sure I was never alone in an alley or washroom, never alone anywhere . . .  counting the days to our departure.

2nd GRAB ATTEMPT EXPOSED – Cuban SS were following orders . . .

31 December 2004,  while at the airport, passengers were boarding but I was stopped and held by two Cuban Secret Service Agents.  They looked at my husband and ordered him to board.

Meanwhile, airport personnel who held my passport were calling many places.  They were expecting my name to come up on a wanted list.  It took a good while – luckily the plane waited.  I was eventually escorted by two guards with machine gun onto the plane.

The 2^nd attempt was a mistake because it exposed it was an operation and was suppose to remain clandestine – the forefront perps were Cuban Secret Service.

Here’s where they went wrong  . . .

When it failed the first time, Cuban Secret Service should have called their Canadian contact to advise them it had failed.

BUT they didn’t – They should have.  I strongly suspect the Canadian command would have told them to do a 3-second GRAB “kidnapping” <– the first attempt was done using a “sexual lure”.

It would have been easy to grab me on the resort, alleys and pathways, bushes and trees, beach.  It takes just a few seconds to grab someone.  It happened to me in 1973-74 – taken off the sidewalk, click here for that event.

Another kidnap attempt using sexual innuendo was on 12 OCTOBER 2017 during the Mark Smith GRAB operation – they tried to remove me by kidnapping but it failed.  The Son had gained Mark’s trust. The Son wasn’t creating conflict yet.  They tried to remove me early on and when that failed, a few days later the SON began creating conflict in our household.  If it would have worked, Mark would have run to his SON, Michelle GUERTIN and NICOLE PERIARD (sister in conspiracy with GUERTIN).

The individual was from CSIS and was very confident he could lure me to his vehicle – It didn’t work and I actually ran behind him and noticed his illegally tinted widows (hummer style vehicle most likely people waiting in it for the Grab) – I re-encountered this individual on 17-18 April 2018, he was wearing a jacket with a CSIS logo – For details on events of 12 October 2017 – here are two posts full details about it:

Instead they “Cuban SSP” thought they could re-attempt / recuperate the operation by using the Airport <– not thinking that it was a clandestine operation – not thinking it thoroughly through. .

I will venture that the Canadian Secret Service contact would have cancelled any further attempts to grab me or perhaps ordered they try again before my departure (3-second grab) – but never at the Airport.

The staff at the airport clueless were simply following protocol– Airport staff  were not on the Kidnap Clandestine Operation.  They were employees filtering passengers, they were not thugs.

What’s the  dead give-a-way? >> Airport Staff was calling legit places to see why Cuban Secret Service persisted I not leave the country – but I was not on any wanted list.

From my perspective, they seemed to have difficulty getting the right authority on the phone – Too many calls . . .  then waiting for call back . . .  then transferred . . . . then hang up – calling again . . . waiting for call backs – call a new number – si si si – on hold again, etc. meanwhile all the passengers are in the plane and the plane is waiting for the OK to leave ‘ with or without me.

It was a mistake – They (CUBAN SS) were trying to accomplish the job without thinking this was a clandestine operation – airport was above board “not into kidnapping people”.

When I was finally escorted to board the plane, my husband was devastated – pale in his seat, shakily whispering “what did you do???”

To which I replied:  “Nothing Ron Nothing”

I knew then I had done the right thing not to tell him about the first grab attempt during the week – I told him two years later.  When I returned to work (Department of Justice as IT Chief of Security), I told my boss and some colleagues.

Who else would have the power to order Cuban Secret Services to do a Kidnap Clandestine Operation?

It was certainly not “Jimmy the Tooth” from the West side organized crime outfit, it was government led – Secret Service in Canada – someone with influence in the Canadian Government.

Canada and CUBA have a relationship – the rumor running in Canada and in Cuba is that Justin Trudeau is the son of Fidel Castro.

AFTERWARDS . . . Each time my son accepted a free one-week vacation (animation job on a resort) – he got in trouble or rather trouble found him.

My son accepted three trips from this man.  Each time my son encountered dangerous situations:

1. Two kidnapping attempts nvolving Cuban Secret Service police
2. One brutal beating

The last trip was a kidnapping – he was incarcerated for several days – no phone calls allowed until Canadian tourists heard his screams and went to see where they came from – They were going to contact the Canadian embassy.  Then suddenly, Mr. Westjet was able with one call, have my son released before the Canadian tourists alerted the Embassy.

This man was alerted about the tourists and immediately my son was released.

I begged my son to NEVER again accept any trips from Mr. Boyle.  I never told my son about my CUBA vacation.
